Here are our learning goals this week:
Writing- Incorporate music, mood, and scenery. We will write a class paragraph by visualizing ourselves in a scene we imagine while listening to a piece of instrumental music. Then students will have a choice to choose 1 out of 4 pieces to create their own paragraph.
Reading- We will continue reading our selections about Peace.
Students will also continue to use their fix-up and visualizing strategies to conjuncture up and describe mental pictures of their reading comprehension.
Math-Working on using fractions of a whole, set and on a numberline. We will have a check-in, possibly on Wednesday. We will confirm that in agendas Tues. evening.
Students are encouraged to play Dreambox and practise their basic math addition/subtraction facts.
Art- Start to explore space and review line and colour by examining the artwork of Ted Harrison, particularly with an examination of our provinces and territories (England/French) focus.
Science- types and composition of soils continued- how soil is used by people and animals, how humans help and hurt soil. Science Check-in on Friday.
Important: I have shared with all my students a Google Slides presentation to review all the important concepts. All they have to do is check their email. I hope this is helpful. I have also attached the three videos we have seen and discussed in class.
Gym- Volleyball skills, teamwork Health- How to Survive a fall into water- Swim to Survive Program
Religion/Family Life- Continuing to practice our Gospel Values and how they relate in our daily relationships. What it means to bring Peace in our lives. Faithful Friday Focus- Justice
Students will also start preparing there Star of the Week presentations in Google Slides. Some time in class will be given to have them set up the slides. Photos will have to be added at home.
