I hope you all were able to have a good March Break. This is certainly a new chapter for us all. I miss all of my students, terribly!
I am re-sending the email information that I sent out on Wednesday. Please know I encourage any and all my students to contact me by email should they have any questions or concerns. I will be checking my emails throughout all the day.
E-mail to parents March 16th:
Dear Wonderful Parents,
Some parents have asked me for ideas for the next few weeks. First, I hope you are having and enjoying the special family time that March Break should entail.
Initially, I was going to send a more concentrated email plan next weekend but then, in conversation with my amazing colleagues, felt I should touch base with you now. That way, at your discretion, you can have your child work on language and math areas.
1. Student Portal-
Using your chromebook or PC, have your sons/daughters log into the Google Chrome browser with their @ocsbstudent.ca accounts. from there they can navigate to https://sites.google.com/a/ocsbstudent.ca/k-6/ and access all of the suggestions below:
Mathletics- I have assigned many problem solving tasks as well as the usual assignments
Soro- great collection of books
Also- Readwork.org - the students have enjoyed using these- I will be assigning some more by the weekend.
2 - EQAO resources
EQAO's resources are second to none for reading, writing and mathematics. On this page, you will find release items for last years tests, solutions and scoring guides. You can also find years past at the top of the page should you need more.
