Thank you to all the parents who met with me (by phone, Google Meet or in person) to discuss your child’s progress. Working with you to promote your child’s successes and having your ongoing support is much appreciated.
We have been so busy doing so many wonderful learning experiences. I truly need a public relations team to adequately reflect all of our learning and how proud I am of the questions and efforts your children are putting forward in all areas of the curriculum.
In the next few weeks, we will be working in the following areas:
- Christmas Book Sharing with our Grade One Buddies & Grade 6 Peers. In class assignment. Students are asked to bring a gift bag. Class time is given each day this week to prepare. Click on the button below to open the link to our plan to our co-constructed criteria:
Math-
- Continuing working with fractions, decimals and percentages with Christmas Shopping Activities.
- Esti-Mystery Openers- reviewing characteristics of number, multiples, factors, etc.
- Game center-multiplication facts, place value, riddles…
- Math Jokes each morning- review of multiplication facts
Religion & Family Life: We are celebrating the weekly themes of Advent- Hope, Peace, Joy, Love and relating these themes in our community service in and outside the classroom. Students will be creating personalized Christmas ornaments for the residents of Stonehaven Manor and are practising our special song in our school play coming up next week.
