Preparing our hearts and minds- Advent- Week One
Writing- writing and reflecting on Advent Good Deeds- Introduction to Persuasive Writing with a shared class writing piece, developing Success Criteria, and critiquing our Performance Wall.
Reading- We will continue reading our selections about Peace and showing kindness, inclusivity, and justice for all.
Students will also continue to use their visualizing strategies to conjuncture up and describe mental pictures and use their drama and problem-solving skills to recognize, explain, and resolve social story problems.
Our Literature focus includes: Little Voice and Tough (Revisited), I am Peace, , Wonder, and when they arrive from Amazon, we will read Dare, and Tough
Math- Pattern check-in on Monday- number patterns with t-charts and Tuesday patterns with at least three attributes. We will be focusing on telling and estimating time. Grade 3 expectations is to read and tell time to the five minute intervals.
Art- Ted Harrison's artwork will be revisited in January. Art will focus on incorporating music (beat, tempo and imagery), Advent, social justice writing, and technology (Google Slides and Ozbots)- This week we will practise working on our Good Deeds and finish our angels. Our Only One You fish look adorable!!
