Here is a breakdown of what we hope to accomplish in this month:
First and foremost we are cultivating an encouraging learning environment for all through welcoming productive struggle, making mistakes, asking questions, daily opportunities to improve, healthy attitudes, celebrate diversity and practice inclusivity and global citizenship and advocacy.
Learning Focus for September:
Religion-Samaritans On the Digital Road
Family Life- recognize & appreciate that each person is created in God's image to be a person of love- appreciate and celebrate the complexity/uniqueness of each person
Math- location and movement on a coordinate grid, patterning, and number sense- building and decomposing numbers, four operations
Reading- Fix up strategies for pronunciation of larger words and comprehension of text
Writing- Recount
Art- International Dot Day Mandalas, intro to dance movement
Science- Biodiversity- so excited to be planning a bilingual focus with Mme. Roy- consistency through Gr. 6 and wherever possible I will provide support in through non-fiction reading and research opportunities in Language.
Gym- Social Distancing Games- personal fitness and goal setting
Health- Healthy Eating and Positive Mental Health
